Islands of Innovation Summit

The Islands of Innovation Summit was held 20 April 2019 at the Hawai’i Convention Center in Honolulu. The event focused on advancing island-led solutions to achieve the Aloha+ Challenge and UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The day event was co-created by Hawai’i Green Growth Local2030 Islands Hub, Global Island Partnership (GLISPA), shift7, Purple Mai’a, Polynesian Voyaging Society and other partners. Panel discussions included Island-Led Sustainability Solutions, which covered the role of islands as laboratories for innovation and new solutions, and sustainability solutions within government.

The Islands of Innovation initiative is broad network that catalyses grassroots effort with global island partners to drive innovative solutions to address the UN SDGs.
